Question 4
Throughout the whole process of creating my final products, I used several different forms of technologies that helped me produce my music video and ancillary products to the highest quality as I could get it.
During the researching stages of my portfolio, I used Weebly.com as my blog, which allowed me to organise my ideas as I documented my research findings and thought process. Last year I had used tumblr.com as the body for my coursework, but I found Weebly more useful and easy as Weebly had more functions such as the flexibility to move and design the layout of my posts which tumblr did not allow.

During the planning of my media products, I used SurveyMonkey to conduct my own primary research on the audience of my music video. This website allowed me to achieve qualitative data that were specific to my ideas for my final product rather than relying on secondary research.

Production
In the production of my Music video, I used many forms of technologies that helped me produce the final product. This included a GoPro that was used to film some underwater shots. This shot was unique and added variety to the shots and cinematography within my video.

The camera that was used to film the majority of my narrative and all of the performance was the Canon 700D. I was really confident with using this camera as my sister has one herself which I use regularly. When using the camera that I booked from my sixth-form, one problem I faced was with the auto-focus setting that I didn't know how to change, which took away from the control that I had on the shots.

Another piece of technology that was very useful was the iPhone Flashlight as it was a quick and easy way of adding a little bit of brightness into the shot when it is a bit too dark. I used this a lot during the second half of the narrative as the shots were filmed just after sunset, and the flashlight allowed me to have a bit of control over the lighting.

Post production
The editing software that I used this year was Final Cut Pro which was significantly easier to use than iMovie which is what I edited my AS video with. I found that Final Cut Pro had a wider range of functions that made the video more professional and generically effective. For example, to adhere to the dystopian theme of my music video, I created a sequence wherein the character is looking up into a surveillance camera. To make these shots effective and more realistic, I added the recording camera effect on Final Cut Pro while also adding a glitchy effect to replicate a tape recording. The tones of these clips were also made less saturated and overall, colder. This in turn added to the idea of a surveillance culture or control in my video.
In addition, I also used photoshop to create a promotional digipak for the artist. One of the most complicated and difficult images to edit was the inside-left frame of the band logo mock-graffiti'd on a wall. This process included merging the two images -the wall and the logo- into one image. To make the logo appear real, I reduced the transparency, making it look slightly faded. Next, I added more detail into the logo through using brush effects and going slightly out of line, as stenciled street art usually looks.

As for my ancillary products, I used Wix to create a website for my artist. I found that this blogging site was really effective for this task as it had a wide range of options and functions that are usually found of artist's pages. For example, since it had an option to present social media pages on the website, I created an Instagram account for the band which could be seen on the home page of the website. Furthermore, Wix allowed me to share merchandise on the 'Store' page to promote the band without having to set up the products on a separate purchasing site. As such, I created the displays of my products on Photoshop where I placed the band logo onto a few typical merchandise items such as mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, and flags.
